Split PDF
Pull out just the pages you need, or cut a PDF into several smaller files. Pick pages by clicking them or typing ranges like 1-3, 8. The PDF never leaves your device.
How to split a PDF
- 1Choose a PDF, or drag it onto this page. Its pages appear as thumbnails.
- 2Pick how to split it: choose pages to extract, cut it every few pages, or type your own ranges.
- 3Click pages to select them, or type page numbers such as 1-3, 8.
- 4Download the new PDF, or a ZIP when the split makes several files.
Split and extract pages privately
Splitting a PDF is often about sharing only part of it: one page of a contract, the statement pages a form asks for, a single chapter of a report. Uploading the whole document to a website to do that defeats the point. Here the PDF is split in your browser, so neither the pages you keep nor the ones you leave out are ever sent anywhere.
Pages are copied exactly, not redrawn: text stays sharp, selectable and searchable, and nothing is compressed again. Each new file holds only the pages you chose, so it is usually much smaller than the original.
To turn pages into images instead, for a slide or a social post, use PDF to JPG. To put pages from several files back together, use Merge PDF.

Frequently asked questions
How do I type page ranges?
Separate pages and ranges with commas, like “1-3, 5, 8-10”. A range without an end, like “12-”, runs to the last page. With “Custom ranges” each part becomes its own file; with “Pick pages” everything you type goes into one PDF.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
No. A PDF that is locked with a password, or encrypted against changes, has to be unlocked first, for example by opening it in your browser and printing it to a new PDF.
Does splitting reduce quality?
No. Pages are copied as they are, with the same text, fonts and images, so they look exactly like the original.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs inside your web browser. Your files never leave your device, and we never see them.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. It works in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac, Linux and ChromeOS.
