Crop Images

Cut photos down to just the part you want, or to the exact shape a site or app asks for. Drag the box with a mouse or your finger, rotate and flip if needed, and download. Nothing is uploaded.

Aspect ratio

How to crop an image

  1. 1Choose an image, or several to crop one after another.
  2. 2Pick an aspect ratio, such as 1:1 for a profile picture, or Free to crop any shape.
  3. 3Drag the box to move it, and drag its corners to resize it. Rotate or flip with the buttons above.
  4. 4Click “Download”. With several images, each keeps its own crop and “Download all” saves them as a ZIP.

Picking the right shape

Square (1:1) is the shape for profile pictures, avatars and many online shop listings. 4:3 matches most phone and compact-camera photos, 16:9 fits widescreen displays, YouTube thumbnails and presentation slides, and 9:16 is the tall format of Stories, Reels, TikTok and phone wallpapers. Choosing a ratio places the largest possible box in the middle of the photo, which you can then move.

The box shows the exact size in pixels the cropped image will have, so you can check it against a site’s minimum size. Cropping only removes pixels; the part you keep has exactly the detail it had before. To make the result smaller as well, run it through the image resizer afterwards.

Each image keeps its format: a JPG stays a JPG and a PNG keeps its transparent background. HEIC photos become JPGs, since browsers can’t save HEIC. Cropping also leaves out hidden metadata such as the GPS location.

Frequently asked questions

Can I crop on my phone?

Yes. The crop box works with touch: drag inside it to move it and drag the corner handles to resize. The handles have large touch areas, so you don’t need to hit them exactly.

Can I crop several images at once?

You can add many images and crop each one in turn, then download them all in one ZIP. To turn or mirror a whole batch the same way, use Rotate & flip instead.

Does cropping reduce quality?

The pixels you keep stay as they are. JPG and WebP images are saved again at high quality (90% and 85%), which looks the same; PNGs stay lossless.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything runs inside your web browser using WebAssembly. Your photos never leave your device, and we never see them.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. It works in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac, Linux and ChromeOS.
